Regional 109 @ Gaylord

#34 Gaylord vs. #75 Petoskey

Gaylord definitely has some hammers.  Losing Bensinger hurt, but they are still tough.  Petoskey held off Escanaba in districts, but I don’t think they keep up with Gaylord.

Prep Prediction:  Gaylord by 21

#12 Fruitport vs. #7 Greenville

This should be an outstanding dual.  Both teams could win and we would not be surprised.  We think Greenville just has a bit too much.  

Prep Prediction:  Greenville by 9

Regional Final:  #34 Gaylord vs. #7 Greenville

Gaylord will definitely get their points, but the Yellow Jackets have too much depth.  

Prep Prediction:  #7 Greenville by 18

Regional 110 @ Freeland

#8 Freeland vs. #13 St. Clair

St. Clair got through a couple tight ones at districts.  Freeland has been highly ranked all year.  We think this one is tighter than most think.  

Prep Prediction:  Freeland by 4

#67 Flint Kearsley vs. #9 Bay City John Glenn

Kearsley has some hammers, but John Glenn has hammers and impressive depth.

Prep Prediction:  John Glenn by 31

Regional Final:  #8 Freeland vs. #9 Bay City John Glenn

Freeland won this one earlier in the season, but it seems to us that Glenn seems to be wrestling a little better lately.  We will see if the Falcons prove us wrong.  Slight upset pick here.

Prep Prediction:  #9 Bay City John Glenn by 3

Regional 111 @ Middleville 

#43 Middleville vs. #18 Plainwell

Both teams are solid, but we think Plainwell has too much firepower.  

Prep prediction:  Plainwell by 8

#25 Lakeshore vs. #2 Three Rivers

Lakeshore is a good team, and will be aided by the return of Pilot Swab, however, they do not have the depth to keep up with the Wildcats.

Prep Prediction:  Three Rivers by 28

Regional Final:  #2 Three Rivers vs. #18 Plainwell

These teams are familiar with each other, both being in the Wolverine.  Plainwell will get a few matches, but not enough.  

Prep Prediction:  Three Rivers by 34

Regional 112 @ Lowell

#1 Lowell vs. #35 Zeeland East 

Lowell is just on a different level.  Zeeland East has a couple hammers, but Lowell in a rout.

Prep Prediction:  Lowell by 70

#29 Allendale vs. #51 GR Northview

Northview has done a really nice job building their program lately.  Allendale is on the other end of that, being established for a long time.  This is somewhat of a rebuilding year for Allendale, but they have been getting better.  

Prep Prediction:  Allendale by 18

Regional Final:  #1 Lowell vs. #29 Allendale

Prep Prediction:  Another big win.  Lowell by 68

Regional 113 @ Chelsea

#21 Chelsea vs. #15 Jackson Northwest

This is an interesting dual.  Chelsea has had a really nice year.  They have a lot of really solid kids.  Northwest has a couple hammers and a couple studs.  We think this one is very close.

#6 New Boston Huron vs. #38 Carleton Airport

This one has a lot of hammers at it.  Airport will score some points, as they have some absolute hammers.  However, Huron seems to be really coming into their own. 

Prep Prediction:  #6 New Boston Huron by 19

Regional Final:  #21 Chelsea vs. #6 New Boston Huron

Even though Chelsea is solid, we think the Chiefs have too much.

Prep Prediction:  #6 New Boston Huron by 26

Regional 114 @ Eaton Rapids

#4 Eaton Rapids vs. #17 Fowlerville

This is a tough region.  Fowlerville returned a solid amount off their state runner up team.  Eaton Rapids has been really good all year long.  

Prep prediction:  #4 Eaton Rapids by 16

#12 Mason vs. #3 Portland

This is another match that should be good.  Mason has really strong team and good depth.  Being without stud, Dylan Granger, will be tough.  Portland is just so strong.  Hammers up and down their lineup make them hard to match up with.  

Prep prediction:  Portland by 20

Regional final:  #3 Portland vs. #4 Eaton Rapids

This was a great dual earlier in the year, won by Portland.  We anticipate another similar result.  Portland is just so strong up top and that is where bonus points often happen.

Prep prediction:  Portland by 1

Regional 115 @ Holly

#52 Holly vs. #5 Linden

Linden survived a tough one against Fenton in the districts.  Holly is a team that is really coming into their own.  We just think Linden has a bit too much.  Maybe closer than some think.

Prep prediction:  Linden by 14

#53 Orchard Lake St. Mary’s vs. #65 Walled Lake Western

Both of these teams had close ones in districts.  We think WLW is just a bit deeper.  Slight upset pick. 

Prep prediction:  Walled Lake Western by 16

Regional Final:  #5 Linden vs. #65 Walled Lake Western

Prep prediction:  Linden should win this fairly comfortably.

#5 Linden by 38

Regional 116 @ Warren Woods Tower

#44 Warren Woods Tower vs. #41 Melvindale

This will be an interesting match.  Both teams have firepower down low.  What will determine this match, though, is who can stay off their backs in the non-ranked matchups.  

Prep Prediction:  Melvindale by 11

#11 Algonac vs. #42 Madison Heights Lamphere

Algonac has had a really good year wrestling up a division, that should continue here.

Prep prediction:  #11 Algonac by 28

Regional final:  #41 Melvindale vs. #11 Algonac

This should be an interesting dual, but we think Algonac is too tough from 157 and up.
