Rockford is one of the few teams that has the firepower to score some points against DCC.  Granted, DCC is way too deep for Rockford and does not have any holes.  There should be some really fun matches in this one.  Watson won a big match over Vaillant yesterday, but Boller is rolling.  There should be a good match at 113.  Ryzyi is a stud.  He is #3 at 113 and Compau is a sensation, having still yet to lose a match in his high school career.  There should be another good match at 132 between #7 Elliot and #1 Totten, with both bumping up from 126.  At 138, Wemerink is a stud, but Lees is on another level.  Tough matchup for Rockford.  At 144, we will likely see Xavier Wey with Moscovic looking like he is still out with injury.  Fitzpatrick should win this one.  165 should be a good match also, with Moore and Porter.  Rockford really needs this one, but I will take Moore in a close one.  175 should also be a great one with two state champ hopefuls going at it.  I will take Hammingh in a close one.  285 should be a good match also.  Let’s give this one to Stewart.

Criteria

These two schools have been linked all year.  They are in the same area (thankful they don’t square off before state), they are in the same conference, they wrestle a dual against each other and the conference tournament.  Not only that, they are mirrors of each other in many ways.  They are incredibly deep with some absolute hammers.  In their dual meet this year Hartland won 36-28.

This time Brighton is without J. Wood so Hartland looks to take the first two matches, looking for bonus points.  At 120 there should be a good match with #5 Shinkonis and #8 McPherson.  Shinkonis pinned him as time expired in the first last time.  Brighton really needs to hope it can replicate that result.  At 132, Abbey pinned Pollins in the third period in a huge match.  Brighton thinks it can flip that match.  Abbey and Pollins both wrestled well yesterday in defeat to hammers Quinlan and Vaughn, respectively.  We will pick Pollins to get the win this time.  At 138 last time, Brighton got another pin as time was running out in the first with Smith defeating Dunbar in 1:57.  Smith is a hammer and wrestling really well right now.  If these two wrestle at 144, it will be a great match.  Neither Yurkunas nor Tougas were deployed yesterday, but they could be back in action today.  If #7 Courneya and #5 Jewell wrestle, that will be a huge swing match also.  Courneya is wrestling really well right now.  We will go with him in a slight upset.  Another great one at 157 between #3 Kosza and #5 Tindall if these two wrestle.  Gardner/Cappellano would be another great swing match if they wrestled here.  At 215, Haas majored Bates last time 10-2.  They would be looking for a similar result.  Last time at 285 Salmon beat Tobin 2-0.  If it plays out this way here, this one ends 30-30.  Why shouldn’t it go to criteria between these two sensational programs?
