Our preseason individual rankings are largely based on the postseason tournament of last year, with a few exceptions. We chose not to rank freshmen yet as it is hard to see how they match up against fellow high schoolers. If they are good enough for a ranking, they will show that soon enough. We also decided to keep everyone at the same weight class for now. We know there will be a lot of wrestlers going up a weight or two, but many who are not. A few wrestlers will go down a weight also. It will be interesting and exciting to see these rankings change over the season as some unknown kids will burst upon the scene, while other established wrestlers will make big leaps in progress from solid off-season work. We will also count on you as informed wrestling observers to let us know who is up and coming that we may not have seen yet, either through this forum or by email.
